The Saskatoon Contacts would like to announce that Andrew Bailey will be joining the Contacts coaching staff as an Assistant Coach for the 2022-23 season, as he joins Head Coach Mark Peterson and Assistant Coach Kendall McFaull behind the bench.
Andrew has enjoyed a successful hockey career which included playing for the U18 AAA Swift Current Legionnaires in the SMAAAHL. He then spent four years playing in the WHL for the Kootenay Ice where he wore a letter on his sweater for two seasons — including the ‘C’ in his fourth-and-final year with the organization. After graduating from the WHL Andrew joined the University of Saskatchewan Huskies for five seasons. Upon completing his Bachelor of Commerce degree, Andrew ventured overseas for one season to play professional hockey for the EC Harzer Falken in the German League where he led the league in scoring and was named league MVP.
Andrew has always been passionate about coaching, and since his playing career ended he has been involved with the U of S Huskie Hockey Summer Program, operated his own Skills/Development Programs, and has spent 3 seasons as an Assistant with the U of S Men’s Huskies Hockey Team. Most recently. Andrew has spent the past two seasons as a coach for the Saskatoon RiverKings U18 AA.
Andrew looks forward to the opportunity to continue his development as a coach in the SMAAAHL with the Saskatoon Contacts. His goal is to create a positive experience for young men where they can develop their hockey and personal skills while working within a team setting.
The Board of Directors welcome Andrew into his new role with the organization. The Contacts have a long history of a very successful program both on and off of the ice and we are excited to have Andrew on board to continue to enhance the Contact legacy.
