JOB OPPORTUNITY: Contacts seeking General Manager

The Saskatoon Contacts requires the role of a General Manager.

1) POSITION: GENERAL MANAGER

2) REPORTS TO: BOARD OF DIRECTORS

3) POSITION SUMMARY:

The General Manager is selected and appointed by the Contacts Board of Directors. The GM is responsible for the overall operations of the AAA team, including the activities of the Head Coach.

4) QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

a) Respect in Sport Certified.

b) Sport Management Background -Voluntary or Business.

c) Criminal Record Check.

5) PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Representing the MHA and AAA Team at all SMAAAHL Meetings.

b) Responsible for the Scheduling of all practices/games with the MHA and the SMAAAHL.

c) Responsible for the booking and promotion of Spring/Fall Camps.

d) Scheduling and booking all travel, meals and accommodations for the AAA Team.

e) Ensuring clear communication between the Team Billeting Coordinator and parents/players.

f) Responsible to be the lead in all parent/player informational meetings.

g) Responsible for the administration of all game day operations for the AAA Team.

h) To advise the Board of Directors on hockey matters as they relate to on and off activities.

i) To liaise with parents as necessary.

j) In cooperation with the Head Coach and Assistant Coaches, establishes AAA Team rules.

k) Cooperate and consult with the Head Coach, assist in the planning of travel itineraries.

l) To keep team financial records and to provide a financial statement to parents and Board.

m) To maintain all player cards and/or rosters and information.

n) Liaison with the league on scheduling, game changes, etc..

o) To ensure that the team sponsors are contacted when appropriate.

p) To include the team sponsors in all appropriate advertising and social media.

q) To see that the team sponsors receive a schedule of the team games and a game passes.

• The role is for the 2021-22 season
