The Saskatoon Contacts would like to announce that Kendall McFaull will be joining the Contacts coaching staff as an Assistant Coach for the 2022-23 season.
Kendall is an alumnus of the Contacts after playing for the team during the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons, the latter of which he was named to Team West at the World U-17 tournament. He then spent four years playing in the WHL for the Moose Jaw Warriors where he wore a letter on his sweater for three seasons — including the ‘C’ in his fourth-and-final year with the organization. His defensive abilities and strong leadership qualities lead to him being drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the sixth round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. After attending camps in Atlanta and Winnipeg over the course of his WHL career Kendall ending up signing a contract in Oklahoma City of the AHL. He eventually opted to go to school and spent five years at the University of Saskatchewan. At the U of S he served as the captain for three years, winning one Canada West Championship and helping the Huskies reach Nationals four times. During this time, he was also named to Team Canada at the World University Games in Spain and captained the U SPORTS All-Star team to two victories over the Canadian World Juniors. In his final year with the Huskies, he was named the U SPORTS Dr. Randy Gregg Award recipient for Outstanding Student-Athlete and Community Service and was named a University Cup All-Star. Upon completing his mechanical engineering degree, Kendall went overseas for one season to play professionally for the Belfast Giants, leading them to EIHL and Challenge Cup Championships.
Kendall has always had a passion for coaching and helping others develop. For two years he oversaw the Huskie Hockey Summer Camps where he was tasked with hiring employees, developing practices, training schedules, and instructing on-ice. Kendall was also involved with the Xcel AAA spring hockey program, coaching a team for two seasons. Throughout his playing career he was involved in helping with multiple minor hockey skill development programs both in Moose Jaw and Saskatoon. Kendall brings a wealth of knowledge and passion from his playing experiences and lessons he has learned from great coaches along the way.
The Board of Directors joins Mark in welcoming Kendall into his new role with the organization. The Contacts have a long history of a very successful program both on and off of the ice and we are excited to have Kendall on board to continue to enhance the Contact legacy.
